Portland is easy to reach — and easier to get around.
Portland International Airport (PDX)
PDX is the recommended airport for the meeting. Located just 12 miles from downtown, it is consistently ranked one of the best airports in the United States and offers nonstop service from most major U.S. cities, plus international connections through hubs like Seattle, San Francisco, and Vancouver, BC.
The MAX Red Line station is at the south end of the baggage claim area on the lower terminal level — follow the "MAX Light Rail" signs. Trains depart every 15 minutes into downtown with no transfer required, and far cheaper than a rideshare.
Take the MAX from PDX to downtown.
The Red Line departs from the lower terminal level at PDX every 15 minutes. Exit at Galleria/SW 10th Ave (Westbound) — about 40 minutes door-to-door for $2.80, and far lower carbon than a rideshare.
Please consider public transit. Portland's MAX, streetcar, and bus network make it easy to skip the rental car. It's cheaper, lower-impact, and often faster downtown.
Your transportation options
MAX Light Rail (Red Line)
From PDX, follow signs to the MAX station at the south end of baggage claim (lower terminal level). Board the MAX Red Line toward City Center — no transfer required. For the Sentinel Hotel, exit at Galleria/SW 10th Ave (Westbound), then walk two blocks east. We strongly encourage attendees to use public transportation to reduce individual travel costs.
Amtrak
Amtrak serves Portland's Union Station, located about a mile from the Sentinel Hotel in downtown. The Coast Starlight and Cascades routes connect Portland to cities along the West Coast and beyond. It's a comfortable, low-carbon alternative to flying for regional attendees.
Biketown & Walking
Portland is famously walkable and bike-friendly. Biketown bikeshare stations are scattered throughout downtown — a great low-carbon way to get around.
Rideshare & Taxi
Uber, Lyft, and taxis are available at designated airport pickup zones. Allow extra time during morning and evening rush hours.
Walking between hotels
The Sentinel and Hotel Lucia are about a five-minute walk apart through walkable downtown blocks. No shuttle needed.
Accessibility
All MAX trains and stations are ADA accessible. Both host hotels and the meeting venue are ADA compliant. Contact us if you have specific accommodation needs.
